Iğdır - Harmandöven (Ejder) CaravansaryIt was built in 12th century during Seljukian Period by Şerafettin Ejder Bey, the Surmarian Commander on the route of Batum - Tebriz Caravansary which was one of the side roads of Silk Road. The caravansary is one of the most beautiful samples of the caravansaries without yards in the Anatolia which is at 30 km distance to city center and it was gained to the tourism by being renovated in 2010 by General Directorate for Foundations.
Iğdır - Koçbaşı GravestonesKoçbaşı Gravestones located in the Karakoyunlu and graveyard of Yaycı Village are the ruins of Karakoyunlular which left traces of a permanent civilization. These gravestones were built in the graves of the people who were the heroes according to Karakoyunlular or those of young people. Very few of the gravestones built by black basalt which is available in Ağrı Mountain is left for today and kept under protection.
Iğdır - Genocide Mausoleum and Muse
More than 80.000 people were slaughtered in Iğdır which was one of the regions exposed to Armenian genocide between 1915 and 1920 and the people who were able to survive had to leave their own country. As a respect indication for these people exposed to this genocide, Genocide Mausoleum and Muse opened in 1999 is one of the highest monuments of Turkey with its 43,5 mt. height.
